: any of four nuclei in the medulla oblongata on each side of the floor of the fourth ventricle of the brain in which fibers of the vestibular nerve terminate—see inferior vestibular nucleus, lateral vestibular nucleus, medial vestibular nucleus, superior vestibular nucleus
